Thursday Morning

We woke up to a calm Thursday morning, well it was a little bit boring too, as the kids were home although anticipating the resumption of school. Or maybe more of Yewande asking about school in her tiny chipmunk kind of voice.

Why wouldn't she love school, she was still treated like a baby in class. She was their new student that loves attention and was more like the teacher's pet as most times I get to her class without announcing her name at the reception, I always find her carried like a baby.

I would have loved school too if I was treated almost the same way. Now she is just home without much play mates except her sister and mommy and dada and maybe tab and toys. Still not enough though.

Afternoon Activities

Tiara went to get her Christmas reindeer horn which she paired with her eye shade, maybe shading and blocking the boredom from affecting her🫣. Then as usual Yewande always wants what Tiara is holding, second child and their dramas.

I was trying to get Tiara to eat or to even tell me what she wanted to eat so I can make it for her, but after asking her, what she wanted. She kept on replying me with "I will eat nothing" it almost sounded like a new food till she says the "Nothing" at the end.

Noodles Thursday

I had to finally ask her to make Noodles herself, so she can tell all her friends about it when school resumed. She was happy and accepted the challenge, I was proud of this new idea.

We went to the kitchen, I gave her a small pot that she dropped on the slab, then i handed a cup of water to her, to pour into the pot which she did happily. I turned the gas on and placed the pot on fire to heat the water.

The Preparation

Our water was boiling, i gave her the noodles to drop in the pot. We were careful because of the steams, I even gave her a spoon or oil to pour into the noodles pot. She did really well for a first timer, she was asking questions all through the cooking time, she will sit on her chair then return back to check again and stir.

Our noodles was readyyyyy, Tiara my baby made noodles for the very first time, with my guidance though. She was so happy and guess what? She actually ate really well cos I took my time to feed her, constantly reminding her of how her effort must be enjoyed.

Sister Yewande ate a little bit this new way, worked really well for Tiara. She said next time she will love to cook beans, I smiled, in my heart i said "is it only beans? why not cook the pot too" Now my madam Tiara calls herself chef TT.

Conclusion

Cooking with kids ain't always easy as your eyes and ears and concentration needs to be on constant alert, you will keep answering questions like it was you that needed help to make the meal. It was fun and yes, we will try it again and garnish it too.
